Embankment (fragment)

The granite walkway along the Neva River in St. Petersburg; a perfume advertisement and the (human) architecture that maintains its visibility; lessons with a severe contact improv teacher in a basement; an almost-indiscernable dance performed for a laptop perched on the river’s edge. Embankment is a fragmentary travelogue of queer encounter in the gap where discourses of russophobia and homonationalism are proven inadequate, opening up alternate horizons of self-inquiry and practice.
